And now.... The Source!

SourceCon debuts a new video series featuring you...

SourceCon Community,

Did you see it? Did you see it?! Did you see it?!

If you have no idea what I am talking about, I am referring to “The Source!” a brand new video series brought to you by SourceCon, featuring you - the community. The Source! will feature interviews, sourcing hacks, tech demos, comedy skits and anything else that has that SourceCon vibe.

The premiere episode has me, your SourceCon editor, interviewing a sourcing OG - Shally Steckerl. In our chat we touch on what 2024 will bring the Sourcing industry and what sourcing issues keep him up at night. Afterwards, there is a bit of comedy where a week in the life of a Sourcer is shared. How true to real life is it? Tune in and then, tell me.

Each episode will stream to our social media channels at 1pm EST on Thursdays going forward. If you follow us there, no way to miss it, but f you do I will be sure to link to the latest episode in this newsletter. Go ahead and watch it now, if you like. I’ll be right here with the newsletter, awaiting your return.

Are you back? Good.

You may have noticed the graphic below on our Instagram channel. There is a story behind it.

Someone from the community suggested a way to inspire others to attend SourceCon and I was touched by the generosity of their idea. So much so, I decided to share it on Instagram and, of course, here.

When you get 4 peer-reviewed articles on the SourceCon blog you are awarded a ticket to the event. As of now, you can give the ticket you earned to whomever you choose. So, if you really want to share some serious SourceCon love, write your articles for the benefit of someone you feel truly deserves it.

Wow.

How does that not warm your heart? SourceCon community, you are sooo appreciated

A Great Idea That Will Never Happen: Licensed Recruiters

It is too easy to become a recruiter. I suppose that can be said for a variety of disciplines, but I would wonder how closely those positions affect the bottom line the way recruiting does. A company is powered by its people and the gas of that engine is recruiting. Staffing professionals know this, C-level executives are aware of the fact and likewise savvy investors who bet on the jockey rather than the horse they ride on. However, across many organizations the staffing department is grudgingly regarded as a resource of necessity that is wholly unappreciated.
